About me

After starting my career in the Silicon Valley of California many years ago, I moved to Seattle, Washington.

I have a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

I prefer remote (or mostly remote) work. I have a dedicated home office/lab with test equipment such as Oscilloscope, Logic analyzer, Power profiler, Signal generator, DMM and NI-DAQ.

I prefer to work exclusively on embedded firmware development, but I am capable of much more including:

  • Windows application development under Visual Studio
  • HW engineering skills (circuit design, schematic capture and PCB layout)
  • Board-bring up (oscilloscope and logic analysis)

Expert knowledge of:

  • ARM Cortex-M MCU's
  • Wireless connectivity (Cellular NB-IoT, BLE, Zigbee, LoRaWan, Wi-Fi)
  • Sensors, Displays
  • RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
  • Debugging:
    • VS Code,
    • IAR-EW,
    • Keil ARM MDK,
    • STM Cube IDE

My latest interest is in developing secure firmware for

  • Nordic nRF9151 (NB-IoT Cellular)
  • Nordic nRF54L15 (BLE)

Using tools such as

  • Zephyr
  • Visual Studio Code

Please call or text me to see if I am available and how we can work together.
